Villas At Casares Del Sol Are A Fantastic And Relaxing Holiday Hot Spot

One of my all time favourite spots for a holiday is the wonderful relaxing Casares Del Sol apartments situated on the Costa Del Sol, Spain. Being only 25 minutes from Gibraltar International Airport makes the resort idyllic for short breaks as well as enjoying longer holidays. You can, should you wish to relax further, manage without hiring a car whilst in Casares since there is a good local taxi service and there is also a bus stop not too far away at the bottom of the coastal road. Casares Del Sol is also easily reached for new arrivals from Malaga Airport, just 60 minutes drive away via either the coastal or toll road. We frequently use both airports based on the cheapest flights at the time of booking.

Casares Del Sol is based around small intimate communities of apartments each having its own unique features on offer. Each community is run and managed by a small community committee. At the centre of each community are communal gardens. Taking centre stage of each community is a wonderful swimming pool complete with the provision of bed chairs and umbrellas. Our own block has a large main pool as well as having the additional benefit of a splash pool for the little ones to cool off in. The pools are surrounded with palm trees and other tropical trees for decoration. The owners have considered further developments for holidaymakers and planned for our community for 2009 is a table tennis table, a small putting green, and possibly a boule court!

Casares Del Sol has a great location tucked away from the main coastal road. Casares Del Sol is but 1 minute drive from the Mediterranean Sea at the bottom of the hill. If you wish to be energentic and walk to the beach it is a no more than a mere 12-15 minute gentle stroll. There is a taxi rank at the bottom operational from about 10am until midnight if you don?t fancy walking back uphill and prefer to take the easy route back.

The majority of villas at Casares have either sea, mountain or golf course views, or indeed a combination of views. At the beach you will find that there aretwo beach bars, the ?Chiringuito Beach Bar? which benefits from its superb location right on the beach and a little further up the beach towards Marbella, ?La Perla? The Chiringuito is a lovelly traditional beach bar frequented by locals as well as holidaymakers, whilst the new ?La Perla? has a more cosmopolitan style complete with sails to provide shade, coconut matting and decking. Both bars serve excellent fresh local cuisine. For a real treat have traditional paella!

Casaes Del Sol is lucky enough to be situated in a greenbelt of golf courses thus ensuring that you are not spending your holiday surrounded by buildings. Right next door is the new mecca for golfers Finca Cortesin, which replaces from 2009 Valderrama Golf Course for the Volvo Masters Golf Tournament. Right across the road to the apartments is Casares Golf. Casares Golf is a 9 hole par 3 and 4 course with a fantastic golf club. It is open to non members who just wish to use its bar and restaurant facilities with fantastic views over the course to the Meditterrean.

There are a good selection of Spanish bars and restaurants to choose from on the nearby beaches of Sabilinas, 5minutes by car. Why not visit Marbella, Puerto Banus or Gibraltar for the day if you want to venture slightly further afield? All are easily reached.

So if you would like a nice relaxing holidayin the sun , either as a couple or as a family stay at Casares Del Sol on the Costa Del Sol!

Don’t Neglect To Discover Nearby Arrecife When Visiting Costa Teguise

Don’t forget to see nearby Arrecife when visiting Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise is situated roughly centrally along the southern coast of Lanzarote, only around a twenty minute drive from the island’s capital in Arrecife. The island’s traditional capital of Teguise is only about fifteen minutes’ drive and is quiet, except during its weekly Sunday market, when many bargains and traditional products are to be discovered.

Costa Teguise did not develop from a traditional village, but is a well built purpose built tourist resort. As such it is well laid out with shopping areas mingled around the various beaches and hotels. As with all of Lanzarote’s developments, there are no high rise building in sight and a large choice of hotels, villas and apartments.

Sea diving is possible from the couple of English speaking PADI and BSAC diving schools, but only really experience dives are carried out as the local playa, Playa Jabillo, at only 15 feet depth is not sufficient for the majority of training. Most dive schools will run customers down to Puerto Del Carmen or for a different kind of dive, along to Mala and the lava caves.

On the main beach there are wind surfing schools and a vast area of sandy beach with the usual amenities and a shopping centre behind it. Many of the hotels in the central area will have direct beach access. There is the only currently completed golf course on the island near to Costa Teguise.

Finding villas Costa Teguise is commonplace and there are an excellent choice of villas to choose from. If you are going to a Costa Teguise apartment in the near future you might be wondering what places of interest to see when you are there. Well, the capital city of Lanzarote is Arrecife and that is as good a place as any to start with.

Arrecife is a lively port city that took over from Teguise as the Island’s capital. It is sited on the south coast of the island, nestled between Costa Teguise and Puerto Del Carmen. Arrecife is also the home to the island’s airport and a slight diversion on the road to Puerto Del Carmen will give aircraft enthusiasts a real treat as they can stand almost at the end of the runway and, experience how close the airplanes pass overhead as they arrive and depart at the airport.

Arrecife is home to half of Lanzarote’s inhabitants and the site of Lanzarote’s only building of above the regulation couple of floors. From miles around the island’s only high rise structure can be seen towering over the city. Cesar Manrique’s vision for the future of the island put paid to the building of any more such buildings and for decades this hotel, the Arrecife Gran Hotel, was a mere shell mid construction as authorities debated completion or destruction.

As already mentioned, the traditional capital was Teguise, some 10km further inland. This was chosen as protection from the regular pirate raids of old and was the capital of the island for 4 and a half centuries. It was only in 1852, when the importance of the port was recognized for the marine trade that the capital status was moved to Arrecife.

This piratical past is still in evidence today as there are two castles standing guard over the harbour. Although, these days they mainly stand and watch the biggest fishing fleet in the Canaries setting to sea and returning with their catch.

Why We Decided To Buy Our Holiday Apartment In Caseras

Why we chose to buy a holiday home in Caseras

Once a upon a time, (all good stories start like that), my partner and I were on holiday sitting on a sun drenched beach. As usual our minds drifted to conversations like ‘Why can’t we do this all the time?’ ‘Why do we cram in pleasure into a 2 or 3 week each holiday a year?’ ‘How could we make money to make our dreams a reality?’ After talking about it the answer was simple. Why not buy a holiday home abroad? It was likely to have lots of advantages. We could use it when we wanted too for weekends or holidays. We could offer it to family and friends and or even go with them and spend some quality time together. We could winter in Spain. We could rent it out to help pay the costs. The list advantages seemed endless.

Where to buy? After much discussions we finally came upon Spain since it has lots of sunshine, with temperatures in the order of 7C/21c in the spring to 16C/34C in the summer, 10C/23C in the autumn and 2C/17C in the winter. It usually receives an average of 320 days of sunshine a year. It has miles of beaches, lovely food, lots of green golf courses, friendly people and the flights from the UK are reasonably cheap. Another huge benefit was perceived to be the fact that a great many of the local people speak English. A major factor was the long list of activities and facilities the area offered.

We decided finally on the Costa del Sol to buy our property. We simply felt it was just the spot for us. Spain is a vast country and if you importantly for rentals some 8 million plus tourists visit each year. The scenery is dramatic, the coastline being backed by high mountain ranges. The coast is green and lush and the region virtually had everything on our wish list

Eventually we traveled to Spain, the end result being that we invested in a property at Casares Del Sol and once set up with the required holiday home furniture we have had several pleasurable trips there this year.

The process from concept to reality took about 2 years and we decided to share the experience with others considering embarking ona similar life changing path. If we learnt one lesson to share with others, it is that villa furniture packages really do take the stress out of the buying process.

A Excursion To Timanfaya Is Well Worth The Trip When Staying In Puerto Del Carmen

A Excursion To Timanfaya Is Well Worth The Trip When Visiting Puerto Del Carmen.

Puerto Del Carmen lies roughly centrally along the southern coast of Lanzarote, only around a 10 minute drive from the island’s capital and airport in Arrecife. Puerto Del Carmen was originally a small fishing village and the old harbor remains for visitors to explore and visit the many seafood restaurants. It now encompasses around four miles of beaches, including wide beach expanses and small coves.

There are many diving schools in Puerto Del Carmen for both the learner, the experienced and those wanting to further their diving log book. Both PADI and BSAC are generally recognized and English is spoken at many diving schools. Most schools utilize the same small bay from which shore entries and harbor entries are available on a range of dives, including a reef with Pink Coral. Motoring further out are the Los Erizos wrecks at a depth of around 60 feet. A collection of boats sunk to create a reef for divers to experience just outside of the harbor entrance.

If you fancy seeing the different types of sea-life on offer, but don’t want to get wet, there is always the yellow submarine tour, which also visits the wrecks. Keep an eye out for the divers watching the submarines go by? There are also cycle hire stores in the main shopping area and a new golf course under construction on the out skirts of the town.

With Lanzarote’s strict planning permission there are no high rise apartments in the resort. Finding villas to rent in Puerto Del Carmen is commonplace and there are an excellent choice of villas available.

If you are looking for places to visit when you have booked a villa in Lanzarote to help you escape from the beach, then going to Timanfaya Volcano Park is a must and could be top of your list if it is your first visit to the island.

You are taken up to the top of the mountain, or drive in a hire car, to the car park at the visitor centre. The journey through the park is an experience. It is described as being a lunar scene and that is truly the feeling that you do get as you watch fields of solidified volcanic lava that have been untouched since they were laid down. The area is now a protected park to help preserve this landscape.

When you arrive at the car park at the top of the visitor center there are plenty of uniformed guides to entertain you. They will demonstrate how a bucket of water emptied down into a bore hole erupts seconds later as steam, heated amazingly fast just by the heat of the rocks below the ground. Another favorite trick is to push some brushwood into the ground and then it is pulled out burning not long later. Again, this is just the heat of the ground.

The visitor centre also houses a fairly unusual restaurant There are no powered ovens. Instead the food is cooked from the heat given off from a hole in the ground. The demonstrations of the heat given off from the subterranean rocks are certainly varied!

There is also a guided coach tour from the visitor center that shows tourists a little more of the area and the rock formations. All of this makes Timanfaya, Fire Mountain, well worth a visit!

A favorite place to visit, especially for my little girl, is the Cactus Garden, designed by local artist Cesar Manrique. There are a wide selection of cactus plants on show, well over a thousand species in fact, in this sunken garden that can be sheltered from the hottest of the elements. There is also a restored white windmill to visit within the gardens, which includes the site’s caf
